The National Agency for Social Support (ANSS) held its first board meeting

The National Agency for Social Support (ANSS) held its first Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. This inaugural event marks a further step in the institutionalization of social support as a public service and a major pillar of the social State.

Created in accordance with the High Royal Directions and placed under the supervision of the governmental authority in charge of the Budget, the ANSS's mission is to implement social support policies, notably through the direct social aid program launched at the end of 2023.

The first meeting of the Board of Directors, held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, addressed the issues involved in making the Agency operational. Mrs. Wafaa Jemali, Managing Director of the ANSS, presented her action plan for the effective launch of the Agency. After deliberation, the Board of Directors approved the action plan and provisional budget for 2025, as well as the Agency's organization chart and the special status of its human resources, guaranteeing it a structure and procedures in line with its public service missions.

In line with the principles of good governance, the ANSS adopted guarantees of independence and impartiality to ensure fair and transparent management of social assistance.

To this end, three independent directors were appointed in accordance with the provisions of the law creating the Agency. Alongside representatives of the associated government authorities (Interior, National Education, Health, Employment, Solidarity, Higher Education, and Budget) and the High Commission for Planning, they expressed their support for the Agency, consolidating thus its strategic role in the service of the most vulnerable.

Through its actions, the ANSS aims to promote a model of social support that combines economic protection and social prosperity, with a view to ensuring that aid reaches those most in need.
