Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, took part, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in the 6th edition of the “Ambition Africa 2024” conference in Paris, organized by “Business France” under the aegis of the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Taking part in the inaugural panel discussion on the theme “Towards new summits: the African economy of tomorrow”, Mrs. FETTAH highlighted Morocco's trajectory in terms of institutional reforms and efforts to mobilize internal resources to support the structuring projects launched in various fields. Mrs. FETTAH also recalled the important role played by the State and the EEPs in terms of investment, while indicating the need to give greater priority to PPPs, citing the example of renewable energy production projects, whose share is expected to reach 52% by 2030, which are today exclusively in PPP mode in Morocco.
Madam Minister also stressed the importance of a long-term vision, based on three fundamental pillars, to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth in Africa despite the current crises and turbulence. These include “building social States”, capable of providing quality services in education, health and social protection; establishing a solid, diversified economy by encouraging a balanced alternation between the public and private sectors; and finally, ensuring macroeconomic and public finance balances.
This annual event is designed to address the challenges and opportunities of the African continent, with a program of round tables, conferences, networking and B2B meetings between French and African companies.
Finally, on the sidelines of the event, Madam Minister held bilateral talks with Mr. Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of BPI France, Mr. Rémy Rioux, CEO of the French Development Agency and Mr. Thomas Courbe, CEO of the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
