The Ministry of Economy and Finance (General Treasury of the Kingdom), in partnership with the International Foundation of Public Finance (FONDAFIP), is organizing the sixteenth edition of the International Public Finance Symposium on November 1st and 2nd, 2024.
The theme of this year's symposium, to be held at the headquarters of the Kingdom's General Treasury, is
“Towards a better restructuring of the public financial governance model in Morocco and France”.
Following opening speeches, introductory reports and keynote speakers, the symposium will be organized into two panels :
• The first panel will be devoted to the theme of “A fragile model of public financial governance”, characterized by the fragmentation of parliamentary authorization, the increasing spin-off of the State and the decline of decentralization in France. This model is also characterized by a fragmentation of public financial governance and an increased challenge for the Bretton Woods institutions in the face of new global challenges.
• A second panel will address ways of restructuring the public financial governance model. The panel will explore several crucial aspects, such as the fight against international tax erosion, the three-year budgetary programming of public finances, the reorganization of jurisdictional controls of public finances, and the use of artificial intelligence in public financial governance.
