Riyada Award: Ministry of Economy and Finance wins prize at GITEX 2024

On the sidelines of the Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 trade show, which took place from May 29 to 31, 2024 in the city of Marrakech, the Ministry of Economy and Finance was honored this Friday, May 31, 2024, winning the RIYADA prize in the "Open Data" category.

The "RIYADA" Award aims to promote efficiency, transparency and innovation within public administrations, and to highlight the best initiatives in three categories: "E-Public Services", "E-Registers" and "Open Data".

The Ministry was thus rewarded for its active contribution to the OPEN DATA project since its launch, notably through the enrichment of the National Open Data Portal www.data.gov.ma with a wide range of economic and financial data covering various fields, including macroeconomic, sectoral and social indicators.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy and Finance took part in the GITEX Africa Morocco 2024 trade show, ensuring a strong presence and contribution to the e-Gov pavilion. The aim of this participation was to promote its e-services and highlight its digital transformation strategy, which aims to simplify administrative procedures, enhance transparency and improve the way the administration operates, for the benefit of users and institutional partners.

The Ministry's stand, manned by a number of officials and executives representing the various departments, attracted a wide range of national and international visitors, including representatives of delegations from Arab and African countries, participants from the business world and academics. This high level of attendance testifies to the continuing interest in the digital initiatives and e-services offered by the Ministry.

The Ministry also took part in the panels and conferences scheduled during the show, to share its wealth of experience and discuss the latest advances in e-government and digital transformation in the public sector.
