The Minister of Economy and Finance chairs the signing ceremony of the legal documentation relating to the Additional Financing of the Support Program for the Commune of Casablanca, financed by the World Bank

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, chaired, March 28, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, alongside Mr. Jesko Hentschel, Country Director at the Regional Office of the Maghreb Department, Middle East and North Africa to the World Bank and Mrs. Nabila Rmili, President of the Commune of Casablanca, the signing ceremony of the loan agreement and the guarantee agreement relating to the Additional Financing of the Support Program for the Commune of Casablanca for an amount of €94.7 million.
On this occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance welcomed the quality and diversity of cooperation relations between Morocco and the World Bank Group, expressing appreciation, in this regard, for the support provided by the Bank to the reforms undertaken by our country, particularly in the field of territorial development.
In this context, Mrs. FETTAH stressed that the additional financing granted by the World Bank aims to increase the investment capacity of the Municipality of Casablanca, strengthen the resilience of the city of Casablanca to the effects of climate change and improve the access to basic services in the Program area.
Furthermore, the President of the Municipality of Casablanca thanked the World Bank for its support for the structuring projects launched in the city of Casablanca, stressing that the additional financing granted to the Municipality will make it possible to widen the scope of the reforms undertaken and further strengthen the city's resource mobilization capacities.
