Visit of Mr. Axel Van Trotsenburg, Director of Operations at the World Bank in Morocco

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, received, Monday, February 20th 2023 Mr. Axel Van Trotsenburg and Mr. Ferid Belhaj, respectively Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank and Vice President for the MENA region at the World Bank. This event is part of the working visit to Morocco that the two Bank officials are making from February 19 to 22, 2023.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the quality of the partnership between the World Bank and Morocco and the commitment of this institution to the structural reforms that Morocco is experiencing in a constantly changing international context.
The visit of Mr. Van Trotsenburg is part of a series of visits planned by the World Bank officials to Morocco, on the occasion of its hosting of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund to be held in Marrakech in October 2023.
The program of the visit includes a high-level event on "women and employment" which will take place at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and which will know a remote intervention of the Minister of Economy and Finance, next to the Director of Operations of the World Bank and other high international figures.
