On Friday, May 20, 2022, Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, welcomed Mr. Remy RIOUX, Director General of the French Development Agency (AFD), who was accompanied by Mrs. Hélène Le GAL, Ambassador of France to Morocco.

During this meeting, Mrs. FETTAH and Mr. RIOUX reviewed the Moroccan-AFD financial cooperation relations and discussed the prospects for their development in light of the Moroccan government's priorities and the reform projects launched by Morocco.

Moreover, the two parties discussed the current crisis context and the challenges it poses for the recovery of the economies in both countries, which have not yet fully recovered from the effects of the pandemic.

On this occasion, Mrs. FETTAH was pleased with the execution of the last programming, which was fully committed, and thanked AFD for its support to Morocco's efforts to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Mr. RIOUX recalled the importance that Morocco has always had for AFD, noting that the Agency closely follows the different programs, strategies and initiatives launched by the Kingdom. In this respect, Mr. RIOUX stressed AFD's interest in Morocco's low-carbon transition, which is an example of the convergence of priorities between Morocco and the Agency.
