Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Expatriates, and Mrs. Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Economy and Finance, chaired on Thursday, March 10, 2022 a working meeting with the presidents of the CGEM and the GPBM in order to take note of the national economic and financial situation, to examine the potential impacts of the Ukrainian crisis on the Moroccan economy and to propose solutions to the economic operators to face the current situation. Also took part in this meeting, Bank Al Maghrib, Tamwilcom and the Exchange Office.

The participants were able to take note of the latest economic indicators. The economic activity in Morocco in 2021 has rebounded due to the recovery of several sectors and branches of the national economy. This has allowed to catch up the production gap recorded in 2020 and this, thanks to the measures taken under the recovery plan and the significant progress recorded in vaccination.

The national economy, however, will have to face challenges in 2022 in connection with the surge in international raw material and energy prices, accentuated by the Ukrainian crisis. Within this context, the Ministers were keen to assure economic operators of the government's support and accompaniment in dealing with the difficulties that may arise from this situation.

Therefore, and in the light of the favourable results achieved in the implementation of programs to support the financing of companies, in particular the Covid-19 programs, and in order to strengthen the support for the financing of the operating cycle and the revival of investment by companies, it has been decided i) to raise the guarantee ceilings for the traditional "Tamwilcom" offer in order to increase the potential supply of cash flow loans and ii) to reschedule the "Oxygène et Relance" loans for up to 3 years.

Further steps will be taken as the situation evolves. For this purpose, it was decided to maintain this framework of dialogue which will benefit from the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Expatriates.
