The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN, chaired, March 8th 2019 at the International Conference Centre, Mohammed VI in Skhirat, the ceremony held to honour women from the Ministry at the International Women's Day.
In this regard, the Minister expressed his pride as to the role of women within all the sectors of the Ministry and their contribution to meeting its objectives. In addition, the Minister of Economy and Finance stressed its Department's efforts to increase the number of women officials graduates in its entities, and encourage their promotion and their access to leadership roles.
He also called for the establishment of an internal committee to develop an action plan aimed at promoting gender equality and set up the necessary means of combining working and family life.
At the same time, the Minister underlined the Ministry’s efforts to improve the women’s status in our country. He, thus referred to the department’s adoption of « gender responsive budgeting » that allows to allocate budget which takes account of gender-specific needs and the creation since 2013, within the Ministry, of the Centre of Excellence for gender responsive budgeting.
It must be pointed out that this ceremony, held in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, was characterized by the conference on the theme of « the status of woman in Morocco ».
