The Council of Government adopts the decree amending the import duty governing common wheat and its derivatives

The Council of Government adopted Thursday, September 19th 2019 in Rabat, the draft decree No. 2.19.810 amending the import duty governing common wheat and its derivatives.
The goal of this draft decree is to reduce the import duty of 135% governing common wheat and its derivatives and substitute it with a customs duty set at 35%, as of October 1st 2019. This draft, that takes account of the national stock of wheat available until the end of September 2019, estimated at 10.5 million quintals, corresponding to about 2.7 months of the needs of industrial mills, will maintain the regular supply of the domestic market in soft wheat.
