During this meeting, HRH the Prince Guillaume welcomed Morocco’s efforts in the field of digitalization, stressing that the Luxembourg is heading towards a digital economy. He asserted that bilateral cooperation will thus enable to address the common challenges and meet a shared vision, underlying that Morocco is seen as a gateway to Africa. In this respect, HRH Prince Guillaume noted that the current high-level economic mission to Morocco focuses mainly on the digitalization and logistic sectors.

As for the Minister of Economy and Finance, the main priority of Morocco is investment in infrastructure. He highlighted measures implemented by the Kingdom to support its sector-based programs, like Green Morocco Plan and industrial acceleration to enhance the competitiveness of Moroccan economy. It thus was noted that Morocco achieved sustainable growth levels and maintain macroeconomic balances while having the confidence of donors. Debates on a new development model able to meet the social needs of citizens and fight against territorial disparities, were also stressed, pointing out that Morocco is currently focusing on human capital. Finally, the Minister stated that the Kingdom, under the high guidance of HM King Mohammed VI, is distinguished by a very strong stability thanks to several reforms in various sectors.

On the other hand, the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Minister of Economy, Mr. Etienne Schneider, asserted that this visit is a continuation of a previous economic mission, in April 2015, which main objective was to strengthen economic links with Morocco.

Having described the diplomatic and political relations between the two countries as "excellent", Mr. Schneider called for further strengthening bilateral economic relations. He assured that Morocco is among the first countries to adopt a digital strategy and added that numerous opportunities are offered to both countries in the fields of new technologies and logistics. Finally, Mr. Schneider called for implementing the tax agreement signed in 2013 between Morocco and Luxembourg .
