Visit of the Public Financial Control Commission of the House of Representatives to the General Inspectorate of Finances

The members of the Committee on the Control of Public Finances of the House of Representatives (CCFP) accompanied by the representatives of the parliamentary groups, and their collaborators made, Wednesday, June 19th 2019 a visit to the General Inspectorate of Finances. They were received by the Inspector General of Finances, accompanied by six advisers in charge of the IGF's fields of activity.

The members of the Committee on the Control of Public Finances of the House of Representatives (CCFP) accompanied by the representatives of the parliamentary groups, and their collaborators made, Wednesday, June 19th 2019 a visit to the General Inspectorate of Finances. They were received by the Inspector General of Finances, accompanied by six advisers in charge of the IGF's fields of activity.

Following the welcoming speech of the Inspector General of Finances, made on behalf of the Minister of Economy and Finance, the President of the CCFP thanked the Minister of Economy and Finance for the utmost urgency in taking into consideration the request for a visit and expressed the will to expand cooperation between both institutions.

The presentation of the IGF focused on seven main axes in this case the legal framework of action, activities and assignments, human resources in terms of hiring and training, functional organization, work tools and information system, programming of the missions, and achievement steps, as well as the follow-up of the priority recommendations derived therefrom.

At the end of the presentation, the questions raised by the members focused on various aspects of public finance control, the most significant of which were the updating of the founding text of the IGF to integrate the entire spectrum of the field of expertise of the Institution, the coordination of the actions of the IGF and the Court of Auditors, the publication of the works of the IGF, and the collaboration between the IGF and the Public Financial Control Commission, notably through the sharing of the frame of reference and the use of some performance audit reports from the 2019 preparatory missions in anticipation of the 2020 expiration date.

Following the debate on different issues, the president of the commission and its members expressed great appreciation for the conditions of the visit and restated their wish for a further long-term cooperation between both institutions.
