The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Morocco held the 3rd edition of the conference on Institutes of Public Finance of Africa (CIFPA) which is held in Tunis from December 17th to 19th 2018 under the theme "Role of Finance Institutes in accompanying reforms ".
This conference co-organized with Expertise France, the Higher Program of Specialization in Public Finance of Cameroon and the National School of Finance of Tunisia comes in response to the meeting held in Marrakech in November 2017, characterized by the establishment of the Network of Public Finance Institutes to support the reforms initiated in African countries and the development of South-South synergy in terms of capacity building for the new public financial governance.
This meeting presents an opportunity to discuss, share views on good practices and open to new fields of research on the role of the Finance Institutes to accompany reforms. It plans to further strengthen the effectiveness of the actions initiated individually and collectively by the institutes in order to have a lasting impact on the development and prosperity of countries.
This edition intends in particular to highlight the role of the Public Finance Institutes in supporting financial reforms, particularly in terms of: (i) change management strategy; (ii) incorporating gender responsive budgeting concepts into public policies; (iii) Accompanying the decentralization process.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance enhances the contribution of the conference by the presentation of the officials from the Budget Directorate, particularly concerning gender budgeting and the management of the State financial reforms.
This conference was attended by nearly 150 participants, 60 of which represent the countries of Africa, Middle East, Caribbean and France.
