Signing of a loan agreement with the AfDB amounting to €200 million

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, chaired, Friday June 8th 2018 in Rabat, the signing ceremony of a loan agreement with the African Development Bank (AfDB) amounting to €200 million ( around MAD 2.2 billion), to fund the support program for agricultural industries' inclusive and sustainable development (PADIDFA).

This event was signed in the presence of Mrs. Leila MOKADEM FARAH, Resident Representative of AfDB National Office in Morocco and Mrs. Nezha El Ouafi, Secretary of State for the Minister of Energy, Mines and sustainable development, in charge of Sustainable Development.

During his speech, the Minister praised the level and quality of cooperation relations between the Kingdom and the AfDB and thanked this Institution, represented by Mrs. Leila MOKADEM FARA, for its valuable and constant support for Morocco in the implementation of basic structural reforms.

The Minister and the AfDB representative also reaffirmed their willingness to further strengthen this exemplary cooperation.

The support program for agricultural industries' inclusive and sustainable development is part of a multi-sector approach and aims to support the agricultural development strategy (Morocco's Green Plan). It seeks to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the agricultural sector for an inclusive and sustainable economic growth through the promotion of value chains, job creation, the improvment of business climate and the sustainable management of natural resources.
