The Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finance- Treasury and External Finances Department (MEF), the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), hold a high level forum under the theme: "New Venture Finance in the Arab World – Accelerating Arab Startups", November, 20th -21st 2017 in the Amphitrite Palace, Skhirat in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Within the framework of the general theme “accelerating the start-ups arabes”, the forum will include a combination of panels, talks and workshops focusing on political, financial and regulatory innovations , whose objective is to enhance the investment climate in the start-ups. In addition, this event will provide an opportunity to develop means of exclusive networking between representatives of central banks and financial regulatory authorities, Finance Ministries and key actors in the private sector.
- The first day will focus on meaningful policies and risk financing regulations of the Arab and international world. It will also provide a unique learning opportunity on a variety of relevant issues such as incentives for risk mitigation, « side-car », funds, the crowdfunding regulations and the regulatory sandboxes.
- The second day presents a Future Lab in which issues at the national level will be discussed, with a focus on Morocco. Taking advantage of the knowledge and experience of the various stakeholders at the national level as well as those of international partners, we aim for an interactive public-private dialogue on tools and best practices in financing start-ups. The objective is to set up a taskforce to prepare and complete an integrated strategy for the financing of Moroccan start-ups.
