A Protocol amending the agreement on double taxation and the fight against tax evasion signed between Morocco and Bahrain

Under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and HIS MAJESTY KING HAMAD ISSA AL KHALIFA, Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Sheikh Ahmed Ben Mohamed AL KHALIFA, Bahraini Minister of Finance, signed, Monday, April 25th, 2016 in Sakhir (Bahrain), a protocol amending the agreement on double taxation and the fight against tax evasion.

In a statement to the MAP, the Minister of Economy and Finance stated that the Protocol constitutes a suitable legal framework for the exchange of information between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the tax area. He also stressed that this agreement would encourage the development of private investments, serving the interests of both brother nations.

Thus, the agreement signed between both sovereigns is a protocol amending the agreement of double taxation and the fight against tax evasion, signed in April 7th, 2000.

​It should be noted that other agreements were signed on this occasion between the Bahraini and Moroccan Ministers.
