​Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance headed the Moroccan delegation, taking part in the 4th edition of the "Africa CEO Forum", held March 21st and 22nd 2016 in Abidjan. On the sidelines of this event, the Minister met the President of the African Development Bank, Mr. Akinwumi Adesina.

Under the theme "New Realities, New Priorities', the forum was attended by over 1,000 participants including VIPs and representatives of public and private sectors from 43 countries.

In his speech on this occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance stated that the strong participation of Morocco in this forum clearly illustrates Morocco's absolute commitment to its African values. This event is also in line with the continued momentum that HM King Mohammed VI keeps giving to the Kingdom relations with the brotherly and friendly African countries.

"To ensure the continuity of the momentum that King Mohammed VI gave to the Morocco-Saharan Africa relationship, the presence again of this Moroccan delegation officials, and private sector actors, allows not only the monitoring of all the achievements, but also to launch and explore new opportunities that actually exist in the continent, '' stated Mr. BOUSSAID. He added: "The presence of a strong Moroccan delegation to this forum also conveys a clear message of compassion, sympathy and solidarity with the “Côte d’Ivoire “following the terrorist attack that damaged this country too dear to Morocco "

The Minister of Economy and Finance has also noted: "A pioneer thanks to the leadership of the Sovereign, the Kingdom repeatedly expressed its African vocation, launching major development projects, as well as clear messages to the Continent, on the South-South cooperation.” He at the same time stressed that Africa needs Africa, and must rely on Africa, noting that the Continent has no more need of assistance but rather of a strong and mutually beneficial economic partnership.

Mr. Boussaïd, made it clear in this sense, that the speech of Africa which is in need of Africa, is understood by a number of African countries as well as by several American and European investors and entrepreneurs who consider Morocco now as "a gateway" and a link between the Kingdom and sub-Saharan Africa.

The 4thedition of the "Africa CEO Forum" was an opportunity for Mr. BOUSSAID to highlight the various measures and reforms undertaken by Morocco, through an efficient integrated policy to promote the different sectors of economic activity. He noted that this "wise" and "innovative" approach helped provide the basis for a strong and resilient national economy in a changing global economic environment. He clarified that "this approach combined with the political stability of Morocco enabled to attract more foreign investors and create a dynamic private sector able to support the development efforts of the Kingdom."

For Mr. BOUSSAID, this policy also made it possible internationally, to develop exemplary partnerships, giving as an example the excellent cooperation relations linking Morocco and the “Côte d’Ivoire”.

​ ​ The Moroccan delegation taking part in the Abidjan forum also includes the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid El Alamy. It should be noted that this event is an opportunity to share the vision and experience of recognized personalities particularly on cutting-edge topics related to the company or its environment, and to support the growth of the economies of the African continent, by promoting public-private dialogue and facilitating the development of regional trade, while bringing together the key economic operators of the continent.
