Participation in the meetings of the 2015 Development Committee of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID, Minister of Economy and Finance, Governor of the World Bank for Morocco, takes part in the meetings of the Development Committee of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, held in Washington from April 17th to 19th , 2015.

 During his visit to Washington, Mr. BOUSSAID will participate in the work of the Development Committee, a joint Ministerial Committee of the World Bank and IMF. The chief objective of this meeting is to address issues relating to the transfer of real resources to developing countries. It is important to note that Morocco is a member of the said Committee.

 The work of this Committee will focus on "The reform of the Multilateral Development funding System beyond 2015".

 At these meetings, Mr. .BOUSSAID will attend the meeting of the IMF Managing Director with the finance ministers, central bank governors and heads of regional financial institutions in the MENA region. In addition, the Minister of Economy and Finance will take part in the meetings of the African Governors with the President of the World Bank Group.

 On the sidelines of the meetings of the Development Committee, Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID will hold discussions with officials of the World Bank and IMF on Morocco's cooperative relations with these two institutions. In this context, the Minister of Economy and Finance will meet with Mr. Hafez GHANEM, Vice President of the MENA Region at the World Bank and Marie Françoise Marie-Nelly, new Director of the Regional Office of the World Bank in Rabat.

Mr. BOUSSAID will hold bilateral meetings with finance Ministers of sub-Saharan Africa. Further meetings with heads of major international institutions and banks are also scheduled.
