Mr. Mohammed BOUSSAID at the Automotive Meeting Tangier

Mr. Mohammed BOUSSID, Minister of Economy and Finance, participated Monday, November 3rd , 2014 at the 4th edition of the Automotive Meeting Tangier (AMT), which was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade, investment and the Digital Economy, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Minister delegate in charge of Small Businesses and the integration of the informal sector, Mr. M​ohamed Mamoune Bouhdoud, and the CEO of 'Renault Morocco', Mr. Jacques Prost , as well as the sector’s professionals.

During his speech, the Minister of Economy and Finance highlighted the interest of the Moroccan government in developing new businesses in Morocco. For this​ purpose, he specified that the automobile industry growth in the Kingdom is achieved through the exemplary partnership between the public and private responsibility and the commitment of stakeholders.

"The Finance Bill 2015 is a showcase for the new industrial acceleration plan," stated Mr. BOUSSAID who qualified the automotive sector as a “key pillar of the Moroccan economy”.

The Minister of Economy and Finance drew the attention of the audience on the progress of this area, stating that: "The automotive sector continues to grow to become since the beginning of the year, the leading exporter of our country.”

It is clear that the automotive exports in Morocco reached 31Mds dirhams in 2013, against 25.2 billion dirhams in 2012. Thus, this sector ranks second in the export sector and the leading exporter of vehicles in the MENA region. This growth is due in part to the promotion of the Renault factory in Morocco.
