International meeting for building a”Gender diversity and governance in the Mediterranean “network

The Centre for Excellence in Gender Responsive Budgeting (CE -GRB ) in partnership with the Agency for Assistance to the Development of Exchange of Economic and Financial Technologies (ADETEF) organize, May 12th 2014 , an international meeting for setting up a " Gender diversity -Governance in the Mediterranean " network, consisting of senior women leaders in the public administration of Mediterranean countries .

The "Gender diversity -Governance in the Mediterranean " network, supported by the General Secretary of the Union for the Mediterranean, aims to promote the presence of women in senior positions in the public administration , by developing skills and abilities, through awareness sessions , training , exchange of experiences and good practices. It also seeks to provide strong recommendations able to impact public policy in order to promote gender equality.

This meeting, characterized by the participation of more than forty senior women representing different public institutions from both shores of the Mediterranean , allowed to outline the terms for the organization and operation system of the network ( missions and points of action , the appointment of members of the coordinating committee , the secretary of the network, clusters , ... ), the adoption of its action plan for the year 2014 and the launch of discussions on the development of a roadmap for the network in the next four years .

This event was an opportunity to present the achievements and prospects of the Moroccan experience in GRB, considered as good practice and reference model at the regional and international levels.
