World Forum on Public Governance: "the leadership of women in public life: promoting diversity for an Inclusive growth.

​At the time of the World Forum on Public Governance organized by the OECD from 2 to 4 April 2014 under the theme " Women's Leadership in Public Life : Promoting diversity for an inclusive growth ," Mr. Chafiki , National Director of the Gender-Responsive Budgeting Centre of Excellence, moderated the plenary on policies, programs and inclusive budgets taking into account the gender issue .

Chaired by Ms. Huguette Labelle, head of Transparency International, the plenary was attended by several speakers including Ms. LulamaXingwana, South African Minister for Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities, Ms. HadiaTajik, former Norwegian Minister of Culture, Ms. Michelle d' Auray, Deputy Minister of Canada in charge of public Works and Government Services, Ms. Betsy McKinney, representative of the women's Union of the United States of America.

During his speech, Mr. Chafiki focused on lessons drawn from the global financial and economic crisis in terms of review of development strategies. The latter are called to put at the heart of public policies the fundamental right of men and women to equitable access to factors of production , services and decision -making.

With this intention, the Gender Responsive Budgeting, from the point of view of human rights, is, for Mr. Chafiki, a relevant and effective tool, nationally and internationally, as regards the integration of the gender dimension in public policies’ programming and planning.
