Signing of an agreement for mutual assistance in customs issues between Morocco and the United States

Morocco and the United States signed at the time of the working visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Washington, an agreement for mutual assistance in customs matters.

The agreement signed Thursday, November 21st 2013 by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohamed Boussaid, and the Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Mr.Rand Beers, will provide a legal and partnership framework for information sharing and cooperation between the customs administrations of the two countries.

It will be possible for both countries to cooperate on a wide range of issues related to the collection of incomes, the fight against cross-border crime and the protection against security threats, including the common priority of both countries to fight against terrorism. «The agreement will help both countries to achieve the common objective of fighting fraud and deal with challenges in customs and trade, "stated Mr. Bousaid.
