The 11th session of Morocco-UE economic dialogue

Friday, November 22nd, 2013, the 11thsession of the Economic Dialogue between Morocco and the European Union (EU) was held in Brussels under the co- chairmanship of Ms. Fawzia ZAABOUL, Director of Treasury and External Finance and Mr. Andreas Papadopoulos, Head of Unit at the European Commission ECFIN.

The Moroccan delegation that participated in the Dialogue included the Director of Treasury and External Finance and representatives of the Budget Directorate (MEF) , Bank Al Maghreb , the Department of Statistics ( Haut Commissariat au Plan) and the Permanent Mission of Morocco to the EU .

Talks between the two sides focused on the macro -economic situation in Morocco and the EU, fiscal and monetary policies as well as the implementation of statistical priorities.

It is recalled that this event, held once a year, alternately in Brussels and Rabat, is the framework within which both sides discuss and share opinions on issues relating to macroeconomic, fiscal and monetary policies with the aim of strengthening and deepening economic cooperation between Morocco and the EU.

In this regard, the Director of Treasury and External Finance insisted on strengthening the dialogue on economic issues between Morocco and the European Union to achieve the target set by the EU - Morocco advanced status, namely the implementation eventually of a joint economic area between the EU and Morocco characterized by the integration of the Moroccan economy to that of the EU.
