Mr. Nizar Baraka and Mr. Idriss Al-Azami Idrissi that HM, the King Mohammed VI, appointed respectively Minister of Economy and Finance and Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget took office during the handover ceremony that was held Wednesday, January 4th 2012 at the headquarters of the Ministry in Rabat.
During the ceremony, Mr. Salaheddine Mezouar congratulated the new Ministers for the trust reposed in them by His Majesty. He also highlighted the challenges in a particularly difficult circumstances namely the international crisis and its impact on the Moroccan economy.
In addition, Mr. Mezouar expressed gratitude to the teams that assisted him during his tenure as head of the Department of Economy and Finance.
For his part, Mr. Nizar Baraka, who was pleased with the confidence placed in him by His Majesty the King noted that major projects related to the employment, social and financial sectors are to be launched immediately to meet the needs of the citizens. This is in an economic environment described as difficult given the international crisis from which our economic partners of the European Union suffer.
Mr. Idriss Azami Al-Idrissi, while expressing his pride since His Majesty the King honored him by appointing him in this Government, reiterated his pleasure to keep on working in a department where he has performed. He also stressed that the crucial phase in our country`s history presents enormous challenges namely to apply faithfully the terms of our new Constitution.
Among his primary concerns is good governance of public finances making it a catalyst of our economy.
Mr. Azami made a point of paying homage to the department officials some of which he regards as his mentors.
The ceremony was attended by the outgoing Minister, Mr.Salaheddine Mezouar, Mr. Khalid Safir, Secretary General, General Managers, Directors and senior officials.
