Strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the Czech Republic

Mr.Salaheddine MEZOUAR, Minister of Economy and Finance, received on Friday, March 19th, 2010 at the Ministry, Mr. Eduard JANOTA, Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic who is in an official visit to Morocco. During the meeting, Mr. MEZOUAR stressed the positive impact of Mr. Eduard JANOTA`s visit on developing and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, which remains below the potential of both countries and the opportunities offered by the Moroccan and Czech economies.

Then, Mr. MEZOUAR and Mr. JANOTA signed the additional protocol to agreement for the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, ratified in June 11th, 2001 between Morocco and the Czech Republic.

Thus, both Ministers underlined that the conclusion of the Protocol, which supplements the legal reinforce business relations and partnership between Moroccan and check operators.

In this respect, Mezouar noted that the development of this partnership is in line with the progressing relationship linking Morocco to the European Union, of which Czech Republic is a member since 2004 and the new opportunities that our country enjoyed within this space community.

The Minister emphasized the partnership opportunities offered by Morocco in the various sectors of economic activity. Similarly, he noted the actions and reforms undertaken or currently underway in Morocco to modernize and adapt its economy to the new international economic environment.

For his part, Mr. JANOTA stressed that his visit to Morocco reflects the commitment of his country to give a new impetus to Morocco-Czech economic cooperation which initiates partnerships beneficial to operators in both countries.

Close of, both Ministers affirmed the determination of both countries to strengthen their bilateral cooperation on a mutually advantageous basis.
