The importation of foreign banknotes, equivalent to or in excess of MAD 100.000, must be duly the subject of a written declaration to Customs office of entry.
Residents must sell imported foreign banknotes, regardless of their amount, on the exchange market, or deposit them on their foreign currency or convertible dirhams account, within 30 days from the date of their re-entery to Morocco.
Exporting foreign banknotes
The exportation of foreign banknotes, equivalent to or in excess of MAD 100.000, by non-residents must be justified to Customs by presenting the declaration made when entering Morocco.
The exportation of foreign banknotes, regardless of their amount, must be justified at the customs office of exit.
Importing and exporting dirhams
The importation and exportation of dirhams is authorized within the limit of MAD 1.000.
