The Casablanca Stock Exchange is a public limited company licensed to manage the StockExchange and set up by the Dahir nº 1-93-211 on the stock exchange.
The concession conditions for the Casablanca Stock Exchange lay out the obligations of this entity with regard to the organisation, management of the stock exchange, and dissemination of information on the stock market.
The capital of the Casablanca Stock Exchange is held, in equal shares, by all brokerage firms licensed by the Ministry of Finance. In case of withdrawal of a brokerage firm, its skate in the capital of the Casablanca Stock Exchange is bought in equal shares by the other firms, and in case of licensing of a new brokerage firm, the capital of the Casablanca Stock Exchange is increased by the contribution of the new brokerage firm.
The mission of the Casablanca Stock Exchange is to manage and develop the Casablanca Stock market. This mission entails:
Organising initial public offerings;
managing trading sessions via an electronic trading system;
calculating and disseminating stock market information (securities prices, indices, trading volumes…);
administering the settlement and clearing system.
The Casablanca Stock Exchange is under the supervision of both the Ministry of Finance and the Securities Authority -CDVM.
The Ministry of Finance oversees, through the Government representative, the observance of statutory provisions and terms of reference by the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
he Securities Authority -CDVM- ensures the compliance of the Casablanca Stock Exchange with stock market regulations as laid out in the Dahir nº1-93-212 on the stock exchange and to the general regulations of the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
